Sunn Venture S1 Sram Rival AXS 1x13 gravel bike

💡 Gravelbike.eu Tip: We added the Sunn Venture S1 to our lineup for one simple reason – it ticks all the boxes of a modern gravel rig. The longer geometry eliminates annoying toe overlap, the frame clears up to 50mm tires, and it features a UDH hanger alongside precise wireless SRAM Rival AXS 1x13 shifting. The absolute killer feature? At this price point, it comes stock with a sweet set of carbon wheels, which is incredibly rare!

Description

The Sunn Venture Air S1 is a technologically advanced gravel machine that shares the same high-performance frame platform as the range-topping Finest model. With a total weight of 8.7 kg, it offers an exceptional balance of stiffness and handling. The frame is constructed from premium Toray HM/HR (High Modulus/High Resistance) carbon fibers, designed for maximum power transfer and superior micro-vibration damping.

A key design feature is the Integrated Toolbox – a storage compartment in the downtube for tools and spares, maintaining a clean aesthetic without the need for external bags. Both the frame and full carbon fork feature Full Internal Cable Routing and are optimized for tire clearance up to 50 mm, allowing for versatility from fast tarmac to technical gravel sections.

Drivetrain precision is handled by the 13-speed electronic SRAM Rival XPLR AXS groupset. It utilizes the revolutionary T-Type (Full Mount) standard, where the derailleur is mounted directly to the rear axle without a hanger (UDH compatible). This provides extreme shifting rigidity under load and high impact resistance. The SRAM Rival XG-1351 cassette (10-46T) paired with a 40T chainring offers perfect gear steps for maintaining optimal cadence.

In this specification, the bike is equipped with Brute Carbone GR35 Tubeless Ready carbon wheels, ensuring low rotational mass and high cornering stability. Traction is provided by Schwalbe G-One R Pro 700x45C tires, focused on grip and comfort. The Brute Carbon Combo cockpit, with an integrated stem and 12° flare, enhances aerodynamic efficiency and steering precision.

💡 Gravelbike.eu Tip: I personally spent a few hours in the saddle of the Mondraker Arid R and I can confirm it rides absolutely beautifully. The Aura Blue color is even more stunning in person than here in the photos. Tech-wise, it ticks all the boxes of modern trends – the bike is super light, the frame clears up to 50mm tires, and it's long enough to prevent any annoying toe overlap. It also features a UDH hanger, while the precise wireless AXS shifting takes care of flawless gear changes. One detail that surprised me: almost every bolt on the bike is Torx.
