Salsa Flyway Gravel Frame Set
The Salsa Flyway C DLX is your ticket to building an absolutely uncompromising gravel machine. Whether you desire a fast bike for chasing podiums in gravel races or a reliable companion for multi-day bikepacking expeditions, this frameset provides the perfect foundation.
The DLX (Deluxe) abbreviation signifies the use of the most premium ultra-high-modulus carbon in Salsa's history. This specific carbon layup saves approximately 150 grams of weight compared to the standard version, without any compromise in overall stiffness, durability, or ride quality. The frame and fork weight comes to a fantastic 1650 g (in size M/L).
The main technological advantage of the frame is the Class 5 VRS (Vibration Reduction System). Specially shaped, vertically thin seatstays can flex outward, actively absorbing impacts and vibrations from the rear wheel, while massive chainstays ensure maximum lateral stiffness for perfect power transfer to the pedals.
The geometry of the Flyway is very modern and progressive. It features a longer reach, low bottom bracket, and a slacker head tube angle. Combined with a shorter stem, this guarantees immense stability on descents and confidence in tough terrain. Additionally, the frame is suspension-corrected for use with a 40mm gravel suspension fork, should you want to take comfort even further. However, a lightweight full-carbon Flyway Carbon fork is included in the package.
The bike offers a clean design with fully integrated cable routing through the headset (IS52/IS52). It features massive tire clearance (up to 700x50 mm in the rear and 700x57 mm in the front), dropper post routing (27.2 mm), electronic front derailleur compatibility, and a UDH derailleur hanger. For bikepacking enthusiasts, the frame is dotted with mounting points for cages, top tube bags, fenders, and racks.
