MAXXIS Reaver 45-622 (700x45c) HYPR-X TR EXO Gravel Tyre

The Reaver is faster, lighter and even more durable than the popular Rambler. In mixed conditions or deeper gravel, the Rambler is more versatile, but as soon as speed is the top priority, the new Reaver is the better choice. The low-profile tread design of the Reaver uses mini-diamond lugs to minimize rolling resistance and increase grip on dusty or loose surfaces. Paddle-shaped cross lugs provide additional grip during hard braking maneuvers. The closely spaced shoulder lugs ensure even lateral grip. The slots in the lugs enable flexible adaptation to the terrain and thus increase traction. Generation 2 features the new HYPR-X rubber compound, which combines the best of HYPR road bike rubber and MaxxSpeed MTB rubber. The Reaver now rolls 25 % lighter and offers 19 % more cornering traction compared to the DUAL compound. New materials in the 120 tpi carcass keep the weight constant and at the same time increase puncture protection under the tread. The new hot-patch design gives the tire a modern and elegant look.

HYPR-X compound
HYPR-X is the result of years of development work and combines the best properties of the HYPR compound from the road bike sector and the MaxxSpeed compound from the MTB sector. The result: 25 % less rolling resistance and 19 % more cornering traction compared to the previous DUAL compound.

Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no inner tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other tubeless ready tires. The bead of the TR tires is completely covered with a layer of rubber, just like a real UST tubeless tire. This means that tubeless mounting is successful on all rims with standard dimensions right from the first inflation and with little liquid. Normal MAXXIS MTB tires can also be mounted tubeless with sealant, just like tires from other manufacturers, as the carcass fabric is very tight. However, only the new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved for tubeless mounting and guaranteed by MAXXIS. Tubeless mounting of other models is at your own risk.

Note: We strongly advise against the use of sealant containing ammonia. Ammonia has been proven to attack the carcass and can weaken it by up to 30% after just a few months, depending on the amount used.

EXO Protection
This extremely cut- and abrasion-resistant material protects the sidewall of various MTB tires. It is very densely woven, lightweight and very flexible. As a result, the performance of the tires remains convincingly good.
